FunnyStorm Secures Patent to Significantly Reduce Server Resources for Mobile Game Development

FunnyStorm, a mobile game developer led by CEO Bobby Yu, announced that it has acquired a patent for a groundbreaking technology that drastically reduces essential server resources required for mobile game development while enabling the effective implementation of open-world events.

The core innovation of this patented technology lies in decentralizing the traditional model where game servers managed all data. Instead, the system distributes responsibilities between the client and the server, allowing the client device to generate the virtual environment locally using a pre-defined matching table.

As a result, only the critical data affected by player interactions during gameplay are stored on the server. Moreover, real-world data such as GPS location and weather information are integrated with the game environment, enabling the system to process only the necessary data for real-time open-world events. This leads to significantly more efficient use of server resources.

A representative from FunnyStorm stated, “With this patented approach, we can reduce server costs by up to 70% compared to traditional methods. It also enables stable service delivery even during large-scale global events with simultaneous user connections.”

FunnyStorm plans to first apply this technology to its upcoming mobile RPG Dragon Raid, which is scheduled for a global launch in the second half of 2025. With this innovation, the company aims to build a distinct competitive edge in the increasingly competitive global market by adopting a more advanced and strategic approach.
